Introduction

This qualification provides learners with the knowledge and understanding of the health effects of Legionnaires' disease, the control measures that should be in place to prevent it as well as the consequences for not complying with relevant legislation and codes of practice.  In addition, this qualification contains specialist units:

• Pathway 1 - Cooling towers and evaporative condensers

• Pathway 2 - Hot and cold water systems

Introduction:

This qualification is aimed at anyone involved in the management of fire safety in any workplace.  This includes managers, supervisors, team leaders, fire wardens (marshals) and staff working in any area where there is a potential risk of fire.
