By providing independent information through workplace inspections, Logic’s consultants can provide the basis for effective health and safety practice and risk management.  Safety audits are measured against legal compliance, company standards and best practice to assist Clients in identifying both where they sit in the market place as well as indicating clear target areas for those companies seeking further improvement.

 

Our experience in promoting safer and healthier workplaces can introduce a greater awareness of health, safety and welfare issues and contribute to a positive safety culture. Our consultants will produce a report identifying best practices conducted on site as well as areas for improvement. A benchmarking score can then be allocated to reflect the health and safety performance level of the site against company and legislative requirements.

 

The audit and review process assists clients in examining and improving risk management procedures and can help reduce insurance premiums. Inspections are tailored to your company’s specific requirements which are discussed in advance with our consultants.

  • London Olympics Aquatic Centre

    Description of Works

    Our client was contracted to construct the internal blockwork walls on this iconic venue for the London Olympics. Our client was able to offer a composite package of blocklaying, scaffold access and management which produced a highly commended blockwork solution.

    Our client developed the wall design by utilising the WI Beam and WI Column systems, designed by our sister company Wembley Innovation, to achieve the required loadings with minimal disruption to the aesthetics of the internal finishes. We were able to omit the requirement for the use of Windposts and concrete lintels on the entire scheme. This was a major benefit bearing in mind the effect too many movement joints would have on tiling and connections. In addition, it allowed the M&E design optimum flexibility in the positioning of services.
    During the period on site, Our client was also awarded the insulation package which involved supplying and installing Foamglas structural insulation.

  • Hill Street

    Description of Works

    The existing building is a Grade II listed end of terrace 6 storey mix use commercial (Office) and residential house, and consists of Lower Ground & 4 upper floors from the ground level.

    The works consist of deepening and extension of existing lower ground floor to accommodate a new swimming pool, spa, gymnasium, steam room and plant room. Reconfiguration of 2nd to 4th floors and infilling of an internal lightwell after removal of a spiral staircase to gain extra space on the 3rd and 4th floors and then full refurbishment and full Fitout of the whole building including extensive mechanical and electrical services to form a luxurious residential house on 2nd to 4th floors with entertainment facilities on Lower Ground Floor and office accommodation on Ground and First floors.

    External steps to the rear lower terrace are to be refurbished with a new wrought iron conservatory to be constructed on the lower terrace. External works consist of repair, refurbishment and redecoration to existing timber windows and listed façade and features.

  • Kensington Close Hotel

    Description of Works

    On this project Logic provided Health and Safety support to the Principal Contractor during the extension and refurbishment of a central London hotel while it remained in occupation and open to guests throughout.  The works included extensive upgrading and refurbishment of services and facilities to the front of house bars and restaurants.

    The project consists of additions and alterations to existing building at Kensington, London for Kensington Close Hotel. The existing building is a 7-storybuilding with basement and ground floors. This presently house 550 guestrooms.

    The proposed alterations include additional floor at level eight, new fire stairs and lifts and minor demolitions to internal walls. In addition 5 blocks were connected to the main structure to form new guestrooms. Part of the basement will be used for a car park and the rest will be used for the hotel. The new building will be raised from first floor whilst columns are raised from ground level.

    The new extension and alterations will accommodate 172 additional guestrooms, eventually forming 722 guestrooms in total.

  • The Olympic Village

    Description of Works

    Logic She Solutions Ltd has provided health and safety advice and support services to several trade Contractors operating on the Olympic Park.

    At the Olympic Village we provided Health and Safety Inspection services on a regular basis to ensure our Client was able to maintain a safe working environment for his employees and contractors and where necessary were able to liaise with the Principal Contractor to ensure our client’s objectives were not compromised.

    The Athletes Village will provide accommodation for 17,000 athletes, officials and those associated with the Games. In September 2012, the area will be transformed into a community of over 2,800 homes, providing a legacy for East London.

    We worked on the site for 3 years, on Block N26, itself containing 10 individual residential buildings, an external architectural Lignacite block (coloured and clear glass) was used as a facade. The design required each block to be a specific size, which were all hand cut on site by Pyramid Builders Ltd’s tradesmen.

    Our clients were able to recruit operatives from within the surrounding area of Stratford to ensure the local workforce were engaged and felt part of this high-profile project, the largest in the country at the time.
