Introduction:
A Confined Space is a place which is substantially enclosed (though not always entirely), and where serious injury can occur from hazardous substances or conditions within the space or nearby. These hazards include a lack of oxygen, exposure to dangerous chemicals and falls from height, slips, trips and falls.
Aims:
To provide delegates with an awareness of the specific risks associated with working in confined spaces and how they can be managed.
Objectives:
On completion of the course delegates will:
Know the definition of a confined space
Know the hazards unique to working in confined spaces
Know the application of the permit to work
