Introduction

Environmental Awareness is ideal for anyone, from a range of sectors, who needs a basic awareness of environmental issues at work.

Aims

  • To develop an awareness of how the global environment affects us.

  • Gain an understanding of our local environment (UK)

  • To become aware of how our environment can be damaged by work activities.

  • To point out commercial and personal environmental responsibilities

  • Gain an insight into the legal requirements of environmental law

  • Explore environmental roles and responsibilities within large and small organisations.

  • Develop an understanding of the need for improving the environment for the future.

  • Be aware of the main environmental hazards at global and UK level.

  • Recognise the main items of environmental legislation affecting industry.

  • Recognising who has roles & responsibilities for environmental improvement.

  • Develop ideas for improving our own work environment.

Micky has spent the past 57 years in the construction industry from all levels between working on site on the tools, to supervisory and later on to project management. 18 of these years have been as a Safety & Training Manager.

Chris joined the Logic team in 2016, specialising in IT as well as the general maintenance of the business’ operations. Previously, Chris worked at a major distribution warehouse where he was inventory team leader. He has participated in many courses including CITB Health and Safety Awareness, CITB Site Management Safety Training Scheme, IOSH Training IATP Asbestos Awareness, Highfield Fire and First Aid Training.

Chris has completed the Level 3 Award in Education Training, enabling him to teach various courses and is a valid member of the Logic training team. Chris has now passed his Level 6 Certificate in Applied Health & Safety and provides invaluable technical H&S support.

Christopher Jones

Matt has been part of the Logic team since 2008, progressing from his starting role as a technical administrator, to his current role. Matt comes from a multi-disciplined background, and is a strong and dedicated member of the Logic team. Matt is responsible for undertaking the majority of Logic Consult’s asbestos surveys and manages our extensive database.

 

Further career development has seen Matt complete his NEBOSH General Certificate and do Level 3 EATs qualification making Matt a valuable member of the Logic training team. Matt has just commenced his NVQ Level 5 in Occupational Health and Safety.

Matt Bloomfield

Having started his career as a safety adviser with SSC Ltd where he worked his way up to Senior Safety Manager, Brian has also worked in safety management for DJ Construction (Group Safety Manager), Balfour Beatty (Capital Projects Safety Manager) and BCJV (Project Safety Manager).

 

He has also worked with AMEC, Tarmac, Laing Construction, CEGB and Delta Engineering). With over 20 years’ experience working with health, safety and environment issues in the construction industry, Brian founded Logic in 2001.

 

His expertise has led to many significant achievements with the industry including winning the Building Industry’s Integrated Project Safety Award on behalf of the Department for Work and Pensions in 2004 and 2005.
