Who is this qualification for?
The Highfield Level 3 Award in First Aid at Work RQF qualification is aimed at learners who wish to become first-aiders in the workplace. This qualification meets the requirements for training first-aiders in those organisations that have identified that staff need to be trained to this level within their first-aid needs assessment.
How long will it take?
To complete this qualification learners should expect to undertake 22 hours of learning, typically over three days, with a minimum contact time of 18 hours.
Topics covered
The qualification covers knowledge such as the roles and responsibilities of the first aider, how to access an incident and recognising signs and symptoms of injury and illness. The qualification also covers first aid skills in CPR and use of an AED and assisting a casualty who is suffering from major injury and illness such as chest injuries, spinal injuries and anaphylaxis.
Assessment method
This qualification is assessed by a practical demonstration and written/oral questioning.
Meet Your First Aid Trainers
Chris joined the Logic team in 2016, specialising in IT as well as the general maintenance of the business’ operations. Previously, Chris worked at a major distribution warehouse where he was inventory team leader. He has participated in many courses including CITB Health and Safety Awareness, CITB Site Management Safety Training Scheme, IOSH Training IATP Asbestos Awareness, Highfield Fire and First Aid Training.
Chris has completed the Level 3 Award in Education Training, enabling him to teach various courses and is a valid member of the Logic training team. Chris has now passed his Level 6 Certificate in Applied Health & Safety and provides invaluable technical H&S support.

Matt has been part of the Logic team since 2008, progressing from his starting role as a technical administrator, to his current role. Matt comes from a multi-disciplined background, and is a strong and dedicated member of the Logic team. Matt is responsible for undertaking the majority of Logic Consult’s asbestos surveys and manages our extensive database.
Further career development has seen Matt complete his NEBOSH General Certificate and do Level 3 EATs qualification making Matt a valuable member of the Logic training team. Matt has just commenced his NVQ Level 5 in Occupational Health and Safety.
