CITB Site Manager Safety Training Scheme Refresher
Introduction
The Site Management Safety Training Scheme – Refresher (SMSTS-R) is a two-day course for delegates who have previously passed the full Site management safety training scheme (SMSTS) course or subsequent refresher course, and can provide proof of attendance.
It aims to bring health and safety knowledge up-to-date, as well as giving a thorough overview of the legislative changes and their impact in the workplace. The course provides an opportunity to revisit the wide range of topics from the previous five-day course.
CITB Site Manager Safety Training Scheme
Introduction
The Site Management Safety Training Scheme (SMSTS) is a five-day course designed for site managers, or aspiring site managers. It is designed for those with responsibility for managing, monitoring, implementing and reporting in a construction environment.
The course covers relevant health, safety and environmental legislation affecting safe working in the building, construction and civil engineering industries. It highlights the need for risk assessment in the workplace, the implementation of the necassary control measures, and adequate communication to sustain a health and safety culture among the workplace.
The SMSTS course is endorsed by Build UK as the standard training for all construction managers.
CITB Site Supervisor Safety Training Scheme
Introduction
This two-day course is intended for those who have, or are about to acquire, supervisory responsibilities.
The course covers all relevant legislation and other aspects which affect safe working in the building, construction and civil engineering industries. It highlights the need for risk assessment in the workplace, the implementation of the necassary control measures, and adequate communication to sustain a health and safety culture among the workforce.
The SSSTS course is endorsed by Build UK and exceeds the standard set by CITB for construction supervisors training.
CITB Site Supervisor Safety Training Scheme Refresher

This one-day refresher course is for delegates who have previously passed the two-day Site supervision safety training scheme (SSSTS) course and can provide proof of successful attendance.
It aims to bring health and safety knowledge up to date, as well as giving a thorough overview of the legislative changes and their impact in the workplace.
The course includes a wide range of topics which have been affected by the changes to procedures built upon the material in the original course.
CITB Directors Role for Health and Safety
Introduction
The Directors' Role for Health and Safety (DRHS) is a one-day interactive course that has been designed for company directors and senior managers active in a health and safety strategic role in the built environment, with the aim of recognising directors' duties of care and the implications of non-compliance with health and safety legislation.
The course will provide a summary of how to promote a positive organisational culture for health and safety. Group exercises throughout the day will give delegates the opportunity to discuss their thoughts about health and safety and thier responsibilties in an open forum.
The DRHS course is endorsed by Build UK as the standard training for all senior managers and company directors.
CITB Health and Safety Awareness
Introduction
This one-day Health and safety awareness (HSA) course is designed to aid the understanding of potential hazards the construction worker may face on site.
It provides a practical summary of health, safety, welfare and environmental issues. It identifies the delegate’s responsibilities for looking after themselves and others, outlines the employer’s duties and explains what should be done if the worker thinks that anyone’s health and safety is being put at risk. The course is an ideal foundation for those wishing to obtain an industry site card. It is also an alternative route to the QCF Level 1 Award in Health and Safety in a Construction Environment for the CSCS Laborer Card.
The course provides health and safety awareness and is endorsed by Build UK as standard training for all operatives on site.
CITB Site Environmental Awareness Training Scheme
Introduction
This one-day Site environmental awareness training scheme (SEATS) course is designed for those who have, or are about to acquire, supervisory responsibilities.
This one-day course is intended for those who are operating at supervisor level. The course covers all relevant legislation and other aspects that affect the environment in the building, construction and civil engineering industries. It will provide supervisors with a broad understanding of the environment and the issues construction sites' face.
