Aims
To impart the necessary knowledge & skills required by operatives who are required to carry out work at height, to ensure they are aware of the hazards and risks involved and the control measures needed to protect themselves and others whilst work at height is carried out, and to comply with workplace regulations
Objectives
By actively participating in this course delegates will be able to:
- Understand current legislation that must be complied with during work
- To assess risk before commencing work at height, provide the necessary controls to manage the risks and produce a safe working environment for all operatives
- Understand how to use access equipment safely and correctly, as per the manufacturers instructions
- Understand the principals of fall protection
- Identify suitable and sufficient anchor points for fall restraint and arrest equipment
- Understand the inspection and usage of a safety harness
- Make the necessary safety considerations for producing and implementing an emergency plan and designing a rescue plan
- Understand the impact on a falling body and the implications to the operative
