Aims

To provide candidates with an understanding of the specific risks associated with the demolition process and the methods deployed to control these risks.

Objectives

By actively participating in this course delegates will be able to:


- Know the legal requirement pertinent to demolition activities
- Be able to define what constitutes "demolition"
- Identify the hazards and the risks associated with demolition  techniques in the sequence of demolition and site clearance
- Know the essential risk control strategies

    - CDM notification/PCi/surveys/method statements
- Exclusion zones
- Safety issues during the sequence of demolition/site clearance
    - Fall prevention
    - Security and safe access/egress
    - PPE
    - Protecting the public
    - Structural hazards/precautions
    - Health hazards
