Aims

To raise delegates awareness of correct manual handling techniques and provide a greater understanding of how to prevent injury.


Objectives

By actively participating in this course delegates will be able to:

- Be aware of the legislation relating to manual handling
- Be aware of the types of physical injury and causes of back pain associated with poor manual handling techniques
- Understand the function and structures of the spine
- Know the correct method of lifting/handling and demonstrate a “base movement”.

- The effects of manual handling on the human body (spine)
- The t.i.l.e. Principle
- Practical overview
- Questions and answers
- Post course questionnaire
