Aims
To provide participants with an understanding of the hazards involved and the subsequent knowledge required to operate work equipment safely
Objectives
By actively participating in this course delegates will be able to:
- Have an adequate appreciation of the relevant health and safety legislation
- Identify the hazards, risks and controls associated with the provision and use of work equipment
- Understand the requirements for guarding arrangements
- Understand the requirements for mobile work equipment
Course Content
The following elements are examined in the course:
- Key legislation
- Defining work equipment and the associated uses
- Identify the hazards, risks and controls associated with work equipment inspection, repair and maintenance of work equipment
- Safe systems of work
- Emergency stop and operating control requirements
- Requirements for mobile work equipment
