Aims

To ensure that delegates understand the need for PPE, the various types available for selection and use and their limitations.

Objectives

By actively participating in this course delegates will be able to:

- Appreciate the legal requirements relevant to PPE
- Know when PPE should be used and the types of equipment available
- Know the limitations and use of various PPE
- Know the requirements for maintenance and storage

Course Content

The following programme elements are covered:

- Key legislation - HASAW act 74, PUWER, PPE regs
- Selection and use - respiratory, hearing, head, hand, eye, skin, foot protection
- Limitations and use
- Maintenance requirements, disposable versus  reusable equipment
- Storage requirements

Duration: Half day

Maximum Delegates: 12
