Target Group

For employees who may be required to work in the vicinity of large water sources e.g. rivers, lakes, harbours

Aims            

To ensure that delegates appreciate the unique hazards associated with work in these areas and the control that must be adopted

Objectives

On Completion of the course delegates should be able to:

-    Identify the dangers associated with working on or near water
-    Know the legal requirements relevant to such work
-    Know the various safety precautions and arrangements that should be in place
-    Be aware of the environmental implications of such work

Course Content


-    The dangers associated with working on or near water
-    General precautions – Housekeeping, Lighting, Signage
-    Environmental precautions – Lighting, Adverse weather, Pollution
-    Fall prevention
-    First-Aid / Emergency Response / Rescue Equipment
-    PPE

Candidates will be required to undertake a written assessment at the end of the course

Duration: 1 day
Maximum Delegates: 12
