Target Group
For those who may be required to use, supply, maintain or store Personal Protective Equipment in the work environment
Aims
To ensure that delegates understand the need for PPE, the various types available for selection and use and their limitations
Objectives
On Completion of the course delegates should be able to:
- Appreciate the legal requirements relevant to PPE
- Know when PPE should be used and the types of equipment available
- Know the limitations and use of various PPE
- Know the requirements for maintenance and storage
Course Content
- Key legislation – HASAW Act 74, PUWER, PPE Regs
- Selection and use – Respiratory, Hearing, Head, Hand, Eye, Skin, Foot protection
- Limitations and use
- Maintenance requirements, disposable versus reusable equipment
- Storage requirements
Candidates will be required to undertake a written assessment at the end of the course
Duration: Half day
